E-toilets to revolutionise city schools

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ‘Green army’ will soon march its way to the city schools. The school model e-toilets launched by Eram scientific solutions private limited will be set up in the city schools in the near future. The bubbly animated characters which comprise the ‘Green army’ to spread awareness regarding cleanliness will also pop up on the side of the toilets.  A company official said that e-toilet will be introduced in the city schools after the programme covers 91 schools in Kochi. ‘’We are currently focusing on spreading e-toilets to different schools in Kochi. In a matter of two months, the city schools will also have e-toilets’’.  e-toilets have already been launched at Ernakulam South GHSS  as part of ‘shuchi@school plan’, advocated by P Rajiv MP. “In the city, e- toilets are necessary for schools like Cotton Hill, which has more than 4,000 girl students. The toilets are always crowded here and  often it will not be in a hygienic condition throughout the day. This necessitates the setting up of e-toilets.  We have been told that e-toilet will be set up within two months in every school in the city and we are also waiting for that,” said Mini, Principal of Cotton Hill GHSS.   The school e- toilets are designed and promoted by Eram Scientific solutions Pvt. Ltd. in order to ensure better hygienic conditions for the students using toilets. The characters represented in the cartoon are designed by Toonz animation to effectively communicate with the students regarding the need for personal hygiene. Each of the characters on display will carry a message on cleanliness and will be pasted on the sides of the toilets. The characters even carry interesting  names like Haari crow, Puigi cat, Pupu mushroom, Marmmu earthworm and Thoothan frog.  The school e-toilets are equipped with facilities like automatic flush, power washing mechanism, emergency exit facility, push button flush, hand pipe, cloth hanger, air freshener, water tank for irrigation etc. The SMS alert facility and customer care service wing are also enabled in school e-toilets. The rack in the toilet is specially set up  for dumping sanitary napkins and  the electrical insulator mechanism burns the napkins and removes the ashes.
