KOCHI: Extending the operations of the Kerala Pravasi Welfare Fund Board (Kerala Expatriates Welfare Board), the state government has decided to start its office in Kochi. Interested parties from Ernakulam, Thrissur, Idukki, Kottayam and Alappuzha districts can submit the applications for membership on the board and other benefits at the new office. Those who are working abroad or had worked abroad for at least two years and those residing out of the state as part of their jobs can apply for membership. The applicants should belong to the age group of 18-55. The members will get pension on completion of 60 years of age. In case of death of the member, the legal heirs will get pension. Special financial aid will be given for the members if they suffer any handicap of permanent nature.Special treatment aid and financial for marrying off the daughters will also be given to the members of the board.
