Raising alarm over a possible threat, a small bomb-like material was identified at 10 am, at Ayappadom Lane, Elamakkara, near here on Monday. The police received a frantic call from a resident who had identified an item that looked like a bomb fuse, near a margin-free market.
The police bomb squad who rushed to the scene said that the equipment could be easily mistaken for a bomb. The device had three bottles attached together by certain fuse wires. There is no cause for worry, the police said. However, the police officials suspect that the ‘bomb’ could have been the handiwork of miscreants.
