WARANGAL: Family and friends are eagerly waiting for the body of Kismat Das (47) who was shot dead by miscreants for standing witness to a crime in New Jersey, US on Monday.Das, who used to work with a gas filling agency, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. This brave Warangal man helped police arrest those involved in the robbery at a petrol filling station. However, the gang members avenged their arrest after coming out of jail and shot Das. Kismat Das is survived by his wife and three sons. Das’s mother and brother stay in Jammikunta and they are inconsolably mourning Das’s death.Das, who hails from Jammikunta in Karimnagar district, shifted to Warangal and after he lost money in business, he left for the US leaving behind his family members and mother in the city at Ekasilanagar.Mother Mallikamba who is grieving her son’s death inconsolably, said she could never see his song again. “He went to a far off place to earn money and clear loans,” she rued. Elder son Rajesh, who was the first one to receive the news of his father’s death said, he had asked his dad to search a job for him in the US but had to hear the news of his death. His second son works for a private firm in Hyderabad while the youngest is pursuing Degree final year in the city. Telugu people living in US will help in sending Das’s body back home. The deceased’s family members met minister Sridhar Babu asking him to ensure steps to bring their beloved’s body back home.
