BANGALORE: Manipal Health Enterprises announced that, Manipal Hospital, Bangalore has been selected as the first ever MRCPCH clinical examination Centre in India by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK in partnership with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. The prestigious MRCPCH examinations conducted by RCPCH, UK sets the Benchmark for International Paediatric Education amongst doctors. Paediatricians with the MRCPCH degree are acknowledged worldwide for the quality of care they can deliver.“This clinical examination is happening for the first time in India. We feel privileged to be associated in this venture, ” said, Dr Ramdas Pai, Chairman , MEMG Group.This will enable hundreds of doctors in this country and region to take the examination in India itself. The theory 1 and 2 examination is being conducted for the last 2 years. The conduct of the clinical practical examination was the challenge however, in India. Hence, in partnership with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, after a rigorous process of credentialing, the RCPCH has selected Manipal Hospital, Bangalore to be the first ever MRCPCH clinical examination centre in India. Senior Examiners from U.K. and India, as appointed by the RCPCH, UK would be assessing the doctor examinees clinically on actual paediatric patients to decide the award of the MRCPCH degree to them. This is a landmark achievement for Paediatric Doctors Training and Education in India, and Manipal Hospital. The Clinical Examination will be held in Bangalore at Manipal Hospital on November 19 and 20. The clinical examination training and mock exam was held from September 20 till September 24 at Manipal Hospital. There will be 12 examiners from Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, 7 foreign examiners and 5 Indian examiners. The Number of students attending for the exam will be 48.
