BANGALORE: Upparpet police arrested five persons, including a citizen of Bangladesh, for allegedly running a prostitution racket. Four Bangladeshi women who were forced into flesh trade have been rescued.The accused are identified as Mohammad Babu Bisas (22) of Bangladesh, Rajesh (33) of Sanjayanagar, Mahesh, Ganesha and Umesh. According to police, a woman from Bangladesh came to the police station and informed that she was brought to the city by Bisas 20 days ago. He had allegedly assured her of getting a job and had trafficked her to India without passport. But he had forced her into prostitution at a home in Vishveshwaraiah Layout in Ullal.She also told the police that she had escaped from the house and many other women from Bangladesh and West Bengal were forced into the flesh trade. Based on this information, the police raided the house and arrested the five and rescued four Bangladeshi women.“Investigations have revealed that Bisas used to traffic women from Bangladesh to India without passports and handed them over to Umesh who was running the prostitution racket,” the police added.
