HYDERABAD: Samaikyandhra made its way into the ‘At Home’ dinner hosted by the governor ESL Narasimhan for chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other dignitaries on the occasion of 65th Independence Day at the Raj Bhavan on Monday. Causing a minor embarrassment to dignitaries attending the event, some freedom fighters raised slogans in support of an united Andhra Pradesh but were calmed down by the chief minister after he assured to give them an appointment to present their views.A group of freedom fighters invited for the ‘At Home’ raised slogans drawing attention of those attending the event. They demanded the governor and the CM take a firm stand in support of a united Andhra Pradesh to end the uncertainty prevailing in the state. They assured to support the cause as they were against bifurcation. They calmed down only after Kiran Kumar Reddy assured to given them an appointment to discuss the matter. Even as the freedom fighters retreated, one Nirmala from the group reportedly raised the issue of land allotments to freedom fighters. She said despite repeated representations, the government has failed to honour sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
