Gambling: 12 held

KOCHI: The shadow police arrested 12 persons for gambling on Sunday. The police raided a lodge in Tatapuram, near North railway station, and took 12 people who were playing cards into custody. The arrested have been identified as Benny 36, Bipin 53, Harish 28, Samshu 50, Kadar 43, Vinod 31, Shijo, 36, Asraf 41, Latif 26, Haneef 28, Pareeth 51 and Abdullah 43. The police have also seized Rs. 23,860 from them. The North police have registered a case in this regard. The raid was led by Special Branch Assistant Commissioner M V Ramesh, SI Nizar under the directive of City Police Commissioner M R Ajith Kumar.
