For artists Bala Baktha Raju, the source of inspiration is Lord Ganesha. So much so, the artist has painted over 1,400 pictures of Lord Ganesha in different forms and colours.  “I have done works in acrylic, oil, mixed media etc. The idea is to try something new and offer different paintings to art lovers,” he explains. About 30 exclusive paintings of Ganesha  is being showcased in Art Cafe, Taj Krishna, titled Adi Ganesha.Various forms and poses of Ganesha is skillfully painted on a flat base with vibrant background colours. If he is playing veena in one, he is consuming ladoos in his Bal Ganesha form, playing flute in another and in another dancing with his mooshik vaahan“Painting Ganesha was my favourite pastime from my schooldays,” he says.  Every year during Vinayaka Chturthi he displays he work.  The size of the paintings start from a wall hanging of 14”X14” costing around Rs. 15,000 to a portrait of 36”X46” for Rs. 90,000.The exhibition concludes on September 15.
