HYDERABAD: Tickets for the first one-day international match between India and England to be held on October 14 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will go on sale in all probability on Tuesday or Wednesday.Speaking to City Express, Arshad Ayub, president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), said they had not yet received printed tickets from Manipal in Karnataka.“The tickets, with security bar codes, will come tomorrow, and the tickets will be on sale on October 11 or 12,” he said.Ayub said the tickets will be sold through e-seva centres, UCO Bank branches and online.“It will be decided by tomorrow,” he said.Following are the ticket denominations: Rs 300, Rs 1000, Rs 1500, Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000.Apart from the stands, there are 49 corporate boxes in the near-40,000 capacity stadium. The corporate boxes have been bought for 15 years.Sources said late arrival of printed tickets has led to some confusion.Even the 1,000 accredited vendor passes are yet to arrive. The vendor passes need police clearance.“There is some confusion and there seems to be no coordination,” said an official. The security, because of the Telangana agitation, is going to be tighter this time. The police are taking no chances and are accordingly putting in place several layers of security. The HCA is expecting another full-house stadium. This is the fourth ODI to be held at this venue. The HCA hosted the first-ever Test at this venue in November last year. The England team has already arrived and has since played a practice match against Hyderabad XI and will play its second warm up on Tuesday. The Indian team is expected to come here on Wednesday for Friday’s blockbuster.Due to the ongoing RTC strike and various other factors, some fear that not many may turn up for the match. But then, a cricket crazy city like Hyderabad will hardly let the opportunity to watch an international match go waste. However, the absence of star cricketers like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Zaheer and Sachin Tendulkar might prove to be a bit of a disappointment for many fans.
