Sathish: I'm a software engineer, my height is 178 cms and weight is 85 kgs which makes me slightly overweight. Last month I joined a gym to lose weight. However, I do not see any changes. I also do aerobics for nearly 30 minutes, but my lower back pains slightly while exercising. I don't know much about yoga, so can you please explain to me whether I can reduce my weight by practicing yoga.

Shalini Vadhera: You can definately reduce weight by doing yoga.

Sathish: For how long in a day should I do yoga?

Shalini Vadhera: An ideal workout, keeping in mind that you want to lose weight, one hour is enough.

Sathish: How many days will it take for me to reduce my weight from 85 kgs to 80 - 78 kgs?

Shalini Vadhera: If done correctly three to six months should be sufficient.

Sathish: Is it possible to sort out my back pain problem ?

Shalini Vadhera:If at the end of the session you mentally feel satisfied and physically lighter and worked out, then, that's the yoga for you to do.

Simran: I have seen your yoga sessions for weight loss. If I religiously follow the sessions, how much time will it take to notice any weight loss?

Shalini Vadhera:Thanks for watching us. You will observe a change in three to five months. However, if you join a regular yoga class, weight loss and body toning will be faster.
