KOCHI: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has asked the state government to bring in suitable amendments to its agreement with the self-financing medical colleges on seat-sharing.In a statement issued here, ABVP national executive committee member B R Arun said that the managements of the self-financing colleges have been taking huge admission fees for the merit and management seats of the post graduate course.“Students are forced to pay up to Rs 35 lakh to self-financing colleges for the post graduate course. As per the existing agreement between the government and the college managements, admissions to self-financing colleges should be completed before May 25.“Even after the Supreme Court has granted time up to June 30 for admissions, the Kerala government has made it May 25, a move which raises suspicions,” he pointed out.ABVP has decided to organise agitations if the state government does not amend the existing agreement, he said.
