Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has planned two-days of state-wide grand celebrations to commemorate Chief Minister Anandiben Patel's one year in office.
Patel took oath as first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat on May 22 last year after Narendra Modi resigned from the post to take charge as Prime Minister.
Patel at present is in China and expected to return on Wednesday night.
In her absence, senior ministers and officials were busy chalking out plans to commemorate her first year in power.
Official sources have revealed that the celebrations will take place at various places of Gujarat during May 22 and 23, and attended by Patel as well as all the other ministers.
As per a schedule prepared by the administration, the celebrations will revolve around four major themes - water resources, housing for poor, elimination of malnutrition and education infrastructure.
During these two days, state functionaries will take part in various programs, inaugurations and rallies to convey the achievements of Gujarat government in this one year, said the officials.
On May 22, Patel along with water resources minister Vijay Rupani and tribal development minister Mangubhai Patel will remain present at a function related to the water resources in Meghraj town of Arvalli district.
