Gurgaon shooter's father arrested
The police on Friday arrested the father of the main accused in the case.

New Delhi: In a breakthrough in the Gurgaon school shooting case, the police on Friday arrested the father of the main accused in the case.

Azad Singh Yadav, father of one of the two school children who shot dead their classmate Abhishek Tyagi in the prestigious Euro International School in Gurgaon, had been absconding ever since the day of the incident.

The police had earlier registered a case of negligence against Azad Singh under Sections 25, 45 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Fourteen-year-old, eighth class student Abhishek Tyagi, son of property dealer Rajinder Tyagi, was killed by Aditya and Vikram (names changed), when they fired five bullets at him from close range in the school premises on Tuesday.

The police had fanned out to the ancestral villages of the families of the accused to search for the fathers of the accused. Both the accused have been sent to 14-day judicial custody at a Juvenile Home.
