Mumbai: A 23-year-old youth allegedly bludgeoned his girlfriend to death at suburban Juhu after she refused to marry him.
The accused Pratik Anilkumar Gupta from suburban Malad, allegedly smashed his girlfriend Megha Jagdish Doshi's (23) head with a concrete block near N M College on Monday night, police said.
Later, Pratik went to Juhu police station where he surrendered. He was subsequently arrested.
Meanwhile, a friend of Megha noticed the girl in a severely injured condition and rushed her to a private hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival, police added.
According to police, Pratik and Megha were classmates at Meethibai College in western Mumbai and knew each other well.
Of late, relations between the two had soured and Megha had started avoiding Pratik, they said.
