MYSORE: Taking a dig at former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy for his alleged statement against CID DGP Shankar Bidari, former minister and Congress MP H Vishwanath said on Sunday that former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and his family members are experts in looting the state’s exchequer.Kumaraswamy has alleged that Shankar Bidari is hatching a conspiracy to implicate Deve Gowda in the Upper Krishna Project scam. He defended the investigation taken up by Shankar Bidari.He told reporters here on Sunday that Bidari is not doing anything against the law and he is taking up the investigation into the alleged scam as per the directions of the court. “Moreover, I have seen him closely when he led the operation against Veerappan and he is an efficient officer,” he said.Continuing his tirade against Deve Gowda and his sons H D Kumaraswamy, H D Revanna and Balakrishne Gowda, he said that Deve Gowda and his family members have expertise in looting the state’s exchequer.“Deve Gowda did not stoop to the level of being involved in a scam worth more than `350 crore and cheat farmers of north Karnataka. Hence, I urge Deve Gowda to apologise to the farmers for cheating them by awarding piece contract for considerations,” he urged.
