HCG completes 20 years of service in healthcare

BANGALORE: On the occasion of commemorating two decades of service, HCG Hospital announced that it would provide free treatment for 20 pediatric cancer patients. Dr B S Ajaikumar, Chairman, Health Care Global Enterprises Limited, made the announcement here on Sunday. To mark the day, symposium on Ethics in HealthCare was organised by the hospital. Renowned personalities like Dr Shanmuganandan, Additional Director, Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), former Chief Justice of India, Justice M N Venkatachaliah, and S T Ramesh, former DG and IGP, shared their opinions on the present healthcare scenario in the country.Justice Venkatachaliah, said “When a patient who cannot afford treatment comes to hospital, he should not be denied of treatment. Hospitals have to explore ways of getting help from the government. Pharma, insurance companies and hospitals should  make cancer care affordable.”
