Heavy rain hits life in Dhenkanal

DHENKANAL: Incessant rain since Wednesday has hit normal life in Kamakshyanagar sub-division. Thousands of acres of crops have also been submerged. People of Badura and Khajuridiha villages under Kamakshyanagar sub-division and some villages  under Jagannathpur gram panchayat have been badly affected. Vehicular communication to Kamakshyanagar has been hit with Jagannathpur and Bhuban roads being submerged.Members of District Child Welfare Committee, a quasi-judicial statutory body, visited Jagannathpur, Badura, Khajuridiha, Pallikateni and distributed relief among the affected people on Thursday. Kamakshyanagar Sub-Collector B N Mohanty said the affected people have been asked to shift to nearby schools.
