Hyderabad court issues non-bailable warrant against Vijay Mallya

Hyderabad: A Hyderabad court has issued a non-bailable waarant against stranded Kingfisher Airlines chairman Vijay Mallya and chief financial officer A Raghunath.

The 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Sunday ordered police to produce the duo before the court on April 13 while issuing the warrants.

The court had earlier directed Mallya, the CFO to appear before it on March 10.

The warrants were issued after GMR Hyderabad International Airport filed a petition seeking Mallya's prosecution for defaulting on payments and cheating the company by issuing cheques that bounced.

The airport officials had filed 11 cases in Hyderabad against the airline under provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Mallya, according to sources, left for London by the 9W122 Delhi-London Jet Airways flight at 12:54 PM on March 2, days before a consortium of banks approached the Supreme Court for his passport to be impounded.
