BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda sought to dispel the notion that he is a mere puppet in the hands of his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa.Speaking to the press here on Wednesday, the CM averred that, to provide better governance, his writ would run large while arriving at any decision.“I will act according to my conscience while discharging my duties,” he assertedHe reacted sharply to Yeddyurappa’s assertion that he would bounce back in six months, and said that he would aspire for another five-year term after completing his 22-month term in office.Gowda, while defending the induction of V Somanna in his Cabinet, said that the decision was taken after consultation with legal experts.He said that a committee has been formed to study the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, while adding that the transfer of Lokayukta DGP Pranab Mohanty was done only after prior consultation with Lokayukta Shivaraj Patil.
