Sydney: Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been summoned for a disciplinary hearing by match referee after a war of words with Australian Andrew Symonds during their CB Series game at the SCG on Sunday.

The hearing will take place on Monday, before the Indian team leaves for Hobart for its next game against Sri Lanka. The duo faces a Level 1.6 offence according to the ICC's Code of Conduct.

Yet another controversy seemed to be brewing between the two teams as Andrew Symonds and Ishant Sharma were involved in a face off during Australia's innings.

It all happened when Symonds was dismissed in the 48th over by Sharma after making 59.

Television replays showed Symonds speaking in a pretty aggressive tone to Ishant after he was foxed by a slower ball and the young Indian bowler didn't hold back. He pointed Symonds in the direction of the dressing room and let loose a verbal volley of his own.

The on-field umpires spoke to the Indian team following the incident.
