Panaji: Filmmaker Gulzar Sahab's film 'Libaas' may have been screened after over two decades of its making, but that didn't affect the impact and the interpretation of the message it tries to put across. Meghna, who had accompanied father Gulzar to its special screening at IFFI, shared her views on 'Libaas'.
"There is tremendous curiosity about the film 'Libaas' because there is immense credibility which the filmmaker enjoys. And with easy availability of Youtube as an option, it is easier for films that don't get a commercial release, to be watched by the audience," Meghna said, adding, "There are films that are stuck for years, and suddenly find a release date. So I think every film comes with its destiny."
When asked about the release of the iconic 1973 film 'Garam Hawa', she said, "Even after 40 years of its release, the theatre halls have been packed with people. Will this happen to any of the films which are released today? Will any films of the present age be released after 40 years and get the same response?"
