Kambu Koozh is one of the most preferred healthy drinks consumed by people in the rural parts of Tamil Nadu, especially during the summers. This drink provides instant relief to the body and is prepared with the help of pearl millet, water and salt. As per Local18 Tamil, this drink is being sold at Rs 5 near Vannarpettai, Tirunelveli.

A large number of people flock to this area every year in the summer to purchase Kambu Koozh because it is a rare occasion to purchase this drink at such cheap rates. Other areas where you can purchase the Kambu Koozh are Thiruchendur, Madurai, etc.

The Kambu Koozh sellers feel no apprehension at selling this drink at Rs 5 and said that they instead feel happy while doing this. One of the sellers, named Kumar, said that he purchases rye and sorghum from the shops, grinds them, and makes a pulp out of it at home. Kumar said that he then puts it in the earthen pots and sells it to the customers. He also sells buttermilk.

Kumar then talked about the nutritional benefits of the Kambu Koozh drink and said that besides reducing body heat, it also prevents intestine-related ailments. Along with the Kambu Koozh drink and the buttermilk, he also provides snacks for his customers.

Kambu koozh is a traditional Tamil drink made from pearl millet, or bajra, and buttermilk. This delicacy is usually stored in large mud pots and is popularly served during the summer to keep the body cool and refreshing. It is a storehouse of protein, vitamin E, B-complex, calcium, and iron. Kambu Koozh is not only nutritious but also rich in fibre and is an excellent summer drink, especially for diabetes patients
