BANGALORE: Bangalore will play host for the 11th meeting of Indo-Ocean RIM Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) starting from November 9. This is the first international summit to be held in Bangalore after a gap of 24 years. In 1987, the SAARC summit was held in Bangalore. The main meeting of council of ministers of the member countries of IOR-ARC will be held on November 15 in which ministers from all the 18 countries including Australia, kenya and Sri Lanka are expected to participate.Additional Secretary of External Affairs Ministry P S Raghavan said that several meetings with different groups associated with the IOR-ARC will be held from tomorrow. The focus of the summit will be to discuss and identify opportunities for mutual cooperation between members countries.
