PUDUCHERRY: ISRO, has proposed to undertake a Mars Orbiter Mission in October-November, 2013. The proposal is currently under examination for government approval and this effort will be India’s first step towards exploring the planet Mars. In a statement here minister of state in PMO V Narayanasamy said that he gave this information in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The Mars spacecraft will be placed in an elliptical orbit around the red planet after a voyage of nearly 300 days. During the orbital life of the spacecraft, its instruments will be used to do scientific experiments.
