THIRUANANTHAPURAM: It is that time of the year again, when ‘Earth Hour’ is observed across the planet when you ‘SWITCH OFF’ all non-essential lights and cast your vote against global warming and climate change.This year, Earth Hour is being observed on March 31 with the ‘Switch Off’ from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Around the world, Earth Hour celebrations are organised by WWF in partnership with governments, organisations, institutions, corporates and communities. Since 2009, WWF has been celebrating Earth Hour in India also.For 2012, Sachin Tendulkar is the Earth Hour Ambassador for India. Earth Hour celebrations in the State are usually organised in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi with various programmes aimed at various sections of the society. In Thiruvananthapuram, the State unit of the WWF will be organising various publicity campaigns during the week of March 26-31.
