It's vote against injustice: Nitish
Nitish Kumar plans to use the potential of the people of Bihar to its fullest, so that the entire country can be proud of the state.

New Delhi: Describing the NDA's sweep in Bihar as a "victory of the people," its Chief Ministerial candidate Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said it would work to fulfil people?s ambitions and provide stability to the state.

After meeting BJP chief LK Advani, Nitish Kumar said, "It was a courtesy call not a formal meeting on Bihar election results, everything will be decided later in the evening. We are getting together at 5 at Atalji's house. May go to Patna tonight."

He also said no discussion about chief ministership had happened.

"It is a victory of the people of Bihar. They wanted a change and they have voted for a change. The people wanted to vote against misgovernance and injustice," Kumar said in his first reaction after the alliance's victory became clear.

According to him, the dissolution of the state Assembly following the February elections and a ruling alliance with the majority of MLAs, did not go down well with the people and Tuesday?s verdict was a reflection of their anger and resentment against the erstwhile government in Bihar.

He added that he was grateful that the people of Bihar had faith in him and that he would not let them down.

Kumar stated that the main priority of his government would be to develop Bihar and bring it out of the state that it was in.

Just as the Election Commission had destroyed the myth that free and impartial elections could not be conducted in Bihar, Nitish said his government would shatter the idea that Bihar could not have a stable government.

"The people of Bihar are very talented and we plan to use their potential and ability to the fullest so that the entire country can be proud of the state," he said.

"My government aims to work for all sections and castes of the society in Bihar. No one will be discriminated against," he added.

He said that the party still had to sit down and discuss whether there would be a Deputy Chief Minister. He also said that tainted ministers would be dealt with and that he would try his best to fulfil all his promises during his tenure as CM.

BJP and JD(U) would in the next two days, finalise the composition of the government.
