CHANDARLAPADU: Right through his Odarpu Yatra appearances in Krishna district on Thursday, Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy did not overtly acknowledge the CBI raids on his businesses. It wasn’t until a public meeting in this town in the evening that he made known his reaction. His reaction made his strategy clear: paint it as a tarnishing of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s image, and dub Chandrababu Naidu a co-conspirator with the Congress party. Addressing a large gathering amidst a heavy downpour, the son of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said Chandrababu Naidu, instead of playing the role of Opposition leader and questioning the government’s failures, was hand in glove with the Congress party.Jagan said Naidu had no right to support the CBI raids now; he had once described the agency as the Congress Bureau of Investigation. The MP claimed God was on his side, forecast that both the Congress and the TDP woud lose their deposits in the next election. The MP said the Odarpu Yatra brought him close to poverty and he discovered the misery of the poor. Farmers were giving up cultivation unable to afford fertilier and seeds and getting nonremunerative returns on their produce.
