Jharkhand BJP MP Dubey to raise Odisha issues in LS

Nishikanta Dubey, BJP Lok Sabha member from Jharkhand, on Sunday said he would raise issues concerning Odisha in the next session of Parliament.

The State BJP has no representation in the Lower House of Parliament, while Balbir Punj is representing Odisha in the Rajya Sabha.

After a meeting with functionaries of the BJP State unit, Dubey told mediapersons here that he had been entrusted with the task to raise Odisha-specific issues in the Lok Sabha by national president of the party Nitin Gadkari.

The multi-crore mining scam, problems relating to industrialisation, trafficking of children from the State, increasing atrocities on women and various problems of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes are some of the prominent issues he will raise in Parliament, Dubey said.

Dubey was briefed about the political situation in the State and Naveen-led Government’s alleged failure on various fronts at a meeting, presided over by BJP State president Jual Oram, here. He was also informed about the steps taken for enrolling maximum members into the party before the organisational election and election of the party president both at State and national level.

BJP organising secretary Panchanan Rout, general secretaries Nayan Kishore Mohanty, Prithviraj Harichandan, vice-president Bijaylaxmi Mishra, Nayan Rajan Prasad, Golak Mohapatra, Debendra Mohapatra, Ajay Das, Sukeshi Oram and Tusar Jena were present.
