The Judicial Magistrate of Gudiyattam Court has lodged a complaint with the Gudiyattam Taluk police stating that he ha d received threat from an outfit for his judgment against one of its members.
Judge T C Sundaramoorthy stated that he received an anonymous letter from one Tamizh Porali Iyyakkam in early 2011. The letter stated that the judge had vengefully punished the movement’s activist R Sundarajan and would soon face the consequences of his act.

The judge had received the threat letter, a printout material, by post in March 2011 but he lodged a complaint with the police on August 29, 2012, after taking the issue to the notice of his superior in the Madras High Court and obtaining permission as per the protocol, police added further.
The judge had sentenced Sundarajan of Erathangal village near Gudiyattam to two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of `2,000 in a case last year. but Sundarajan came out on bail, Muralidharan said. Sundarajan’s name was in the history sheeters’ list since 1991, he added. Police have registered a case against Sundarajan in connection with the threat to the judge under section 189 and 506 (i) of IPC and have launched a manhunt for him.
“The judge had sent the complaint through post with a photocopy of the letter. We are investigating if Sundarajan has any link with any insurgent group or naxalites,” the Inspector added.
