Bidar: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Bidar district in Karnataka on Tuesday night. The accused, who was known to the victim and her family, has been arrested. The girl has been admitted to a hospital.
The shocking incident came at a time when the nation is already angered with the bus gangrape case in Delhi. A 23-year-old paramedical student from Dehradun was gangraped, brutally beaten, stripped and thrown out of a private chartered bus near a flyover along with her male friend - who managed to file a police complaint at around 1.15 am - on Monday night.
The victim is severely injured and is struggling for her life at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. Doctors treating her said on Wednesday that some of her vital organs have been permanently damaged. The issue has rocked Parliament also with women MPs of various parties demanding strictest action against the accused.
