A person, who was named as fourth accused in the Kavita Rani murder case, surrendered in Meerut on Sunday evening.

New Delhi: There is finally some progress in the sensational Kavita Rani murder case.

A person, who was named as fourth accused in the murder case, surrendered before police in Meerut on Sunday evening.

Sunder surrendered to Civil Line police station in Meerut. But since police did not find any role of his direct involvement in the lecturer’s murder, he was not arrested and allowed him to go, news agency PTI quoted sources as saying.

They added that Sunder would be called for interrogation if required.

Meanwhile, police continued their search for the body of the Chaudhary Charan Singh University lecturer who was murdered over sharing of booty and the blackmail of a former state minister.

Sources said since it has already been two months when Kavita disappeared, it would be difficult to find out the body. However, the search would continue.

The hidden camera, who was allegedly used by Kavita to blackmail several high-profile persons, has not been recovered yet, the sources said.
