Kerala: Now, track your file sitting at home
Chandy launched a facility which would enable people to track their file at the secretariat, while sitting at home.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday launched a facility which would enable people to track their file at the secretariat, while sitting at home. "This is going to be a great boon for the Kerala diaspora and for those who come to the state secretariat to know the progress of their files," said Chandy.

This facility is available by logging on to www.kerala.gov.in and then clicking on to the file tracking section. It is being carried out with the help of the National Informatics Centre. "Through this system the staff will be on tenterhooks and as per the government rules, in three days' time each staff has to dispose of the file. If it is delayed, then the staff is answerable," said Chandy.

State IT secretary P.H. Kurian said: "Through this new system, people now need not come to the secretariat." The Secretariat is the most crowded office as the general public is allowed entry only after 3 p.m.
