THIRUVANATHAPURAM: As the second set of Cabinet members is all set to take the oath of office and secrecy at Raj Bhavan in the capital city on Monday, the police have their eyes set on the UDF supporters, rather than members of the ousted LDF, for possible law and order problems. With various factions in the UDF dissatisfied with their representatives being left out while preparing the list of Ministers, the police are expecting more than one black flag march to the Raj Bhavan during the swearingin ceremony.
The security arrangements have been made keeping this fact in mind. The police suspect that the protesters might intrude into the venue of the swearingin ceremony posing themselves as supporters, even though the entry is regulated using special passes. Hence, police personnel in plainclothes will be deployed among the gathering and also outside the venue to catch troublemakers and avert any untoward incident. The venue will be under the tight scrutiny of as many as 150 police officers in 'mufti'. The City Police have made vast security arrangements in connection with the swearingin ceremony. As many as 1,300 police personnel will be deployed in and around Raj Bhavan. Among them, 480 will be armed.
