Guwahati: The terrorists who struck at Balajan market in the heart of Assam's Kokrajhar district came in an autoricksaw and started firing indiscriminately at people gathered there, police sources have said.

Bodies with multiple bullets injuries were seen laying all over the place in a pool of blood. A large number of hand grenades and one AK-47 was seized from area and the entire market was cordoned off.
This is the first time an attack by the NDFB(S) led to the killing of members of the Bodo community.
Six Bodos were among those killed in the attack. All earlier attacks by the NDFB(S) were on Muslims or Adivasis.
Though state police claimed that the some of the militants are still holed up in the area but there are reports that they managed to escape and could be hiding in a nearby jungle area.
The attackers are suspected to be from the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit). An alert has been issued across Assam and its adjoining areas.
All the bordering areas were sealed and massive combing operation has been launched to arrest the NDFB (S) who are fighting for sovereign Bodoland.
