HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah on Wednesday threatened to launch an agitation if the state government failed to take steps to regulate fee structure in corporate colleges and private junior colleges.A BC leaders delegation led by R Krishnaiah met minister for secondary and intermediate education K Parthasarathy and held discussions on fees being collected in corporate colleges.Talking to mediapersons later, Krishnaiah claimed that the minister has assured to take action against the corporate junior colleges which were collecting a fee between Rs 30,000 and Rs 1 lakh per annum for intermediate education. He urged the government to fix the fee at Rs 10,000 for day scholars and Rs 30,000 for hostel students studying in corporate colleges. He also wanted the government to fix a fee ranging from Rs 3,000 to 4,500 depending on the courses in private junior colleges.
