Kumbalangi-model projects in other villages soon

KOCHI: The government will provide all assistance in initiating Kumbalangi-model sustainable agricultural village development projects in other villages too, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said. He was speaking at the inaugural function of a Coconut Development Board project here. He  said that for projects like these to be profitable for the common people, the state and central governments should work together.Inaugurating the programme, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution K V Thomas said that pure milk will be introduced in the market under the brand name ‘Kumbalangi Milk’ along with other agriculture products from the village.The project will be introduced as a model in two pachayats and later expanded to other panchayats within the parliamentary constituency, he said.Dominic Presentation MLA, district panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappally and Collector P I Sheik Pareeth also attended.
