Mumbai: The wardrobe malfunction controvery is refusing to die down.

While the Mumbai Police on Tuesday described the episode as an 'accident', the Maharashtra Legislative Council has refused to buy this theory, saying the House can't really believe that the police can complete the inquiry in just one day.

The House has now asked for a re-enquiry into the entire controversy.

The Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police had on Tuesday claimed that they had seen the videos of the incidents and concluded that there was no hanky-panky.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who holds the Home portfolio, had earlier asked the Mumbai Police to probe why dresses came undone during the fashion week.

The Chairman of the Legislative Council, Shivajirao Deshmukh, had directed the government to conduct an inquiry into the matter after many MLCs had raised the topic in the House and demanded an inquiry into how model Carol Gracias's halter neck gave in to gravity.

"Why did the model's clothes fall off on the ramp? Was this an accident or was it done on purpose? There will be an enquiry into the matter and if this was done on purpose then strict action will be taken," Patil said after ordering the probe.

Police officers probed the incident from a public exposure angle, as they were worried that people are passing on the dress slips as MMS clips.

The issue was raised in the state legislative council by Shiv Sena MLCs Pramod Navalkar and Neelam Gorhe, who demanded an inquiry into the wardrobe malfunctions. Gorhe said besides the actual incident, the repeated telecast of the said portion of the fashion week proceeding on various TV channels, was harming the younger generation.
