New York: Troubled star Lindsay Lohan was reportedly assaulted by a congressional staffer after she confronted him for taking her pictures on his cell phone. The 26-year-old actress, who is famous for her run-ins with the law, filed a police report claiming she was choked and thrown to the floor by Christian LaBella after she took his phone to delete pictures and videos of her partying, reported New York Daily News.
After Lohan called the police, LaBella, who works for an Illinois Republican, was initially charged with misdemeanor assault. But law enforcement sources said the assault charges were dropped later.
Lohan's spokesman Steve Honig said it was very distressing and outrageous that assault charges against LaBella were dropped. "Lindsay was clearly assaulted, and I think there needs to be a consequence for that," Honig said.
Lohan alleged that the young man befriended someone in her group at 1 Oak nightclub with the intention of getting closer to her. She said they later got into a heated physical argument after she found out he had taken more than 50 photographs of her and was emailing them to his friends. Lohan reported the incident to police at 4:30am and alleged that she was choked from behind and thrown on to the ground in her room at the W Hotel in Manhattan where she was staying with friends.
