Locals attack private school in Moosapet

HYDERABAD:  Mild tension prevailed in Kukatpally area with locals attacking and damaging the furniture of a private school over a petty issue. The incident took place in Anjaneya Nagar in Moosapet on Monday.According to locals and police, there was a proposal to lay a pipeline as there was a severe water supply problem in the locality. Munna, an office-bearer of the colony welfare association, was going around the locality to discuss the issue when a local school owner, Chinna Rao, approached Munna to discuss some other local issue.Munna reportedly tried to skip the issue which irritated Chinna Rao and he entered into an argument with the former. Sometime later, Chinna Rao allegedly returned with a few of his students and attacked Munna who then left the place and came back with his followers. Chinna Rao and his students attacked them with stones leading to injuries to Munna and two others.As locals came to know about the attack, they went to the school but Chinna Rao fled from the locality by then. Angered, the locals attacked and damaged the school furniture. Kukatpally police registered cases against both groups and are investigating.ROW OVER STATUE: Meanwhile, mild tension prevailed in KPHB phase-V with some locals preventing local youth association from installing an idol of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. The members of Chatrapati Shivaji Youth Association tried to install the statue when members of the local colony association obstructed them leading to a minor clash. Police intervened and reportedly took the youth association members into custody.
