BANGALORE: New Lokayukta Justice Shivaraj V Patil has said that he will spend one month to bring out an action plan for the speedy disposal of pending cases in the Lokayukta office and Lokayukta Court.Speaking to the New Indian Express, he said that he will not go anywhere or attend any function in August as he wants to study the Lokayukta Act, to discuss with his officers and experts about the status of cases in the Lokayukta institution. "I want to come up with an action plan to ensure speedy disposal of cases and give justice to the complainants," he said. The action plan will be prepared after looking at the ground reality, he said. "I have to understand the functioning and administrative structure of the Lokayukta. My only intention is to provide good service to the public within the framework of the Lokayukta Act," he added. In the meantime, he wants to bring out a 'Complaints Management System', to provide quick reaction to the complaint as well as deliver justice to the complainant. The system would describe in what way the complaint is to be received and who needs to act on it. There are officers of Lokayukta at the district level and there is no need of public running from pillar to post. "We have to evolve a system where the victims or complainants have to get quick action from the Lokayukta," he added.Justice Patil said that he is studying the communique sent by Governor on initiating criminal proceedings against former CM B S Yeddyurappa.
