LSGD building rules to be changed

KOCHI: Changes will be made to the building rules of all the Local Self Government Departments (LSGD) in the state, said M K Muneer, Minister for Panchayats. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the second session of the third state conference of LSGD Engineers Association in Kochi on Saturday.“The changes will be made based on the detailed report filed by LSGD Engineers Association in this regard. The changes will be applicable to the building rules of all the panchayats, municipalities and corporations in the state,” the Minister said. He said out of the nine computers that will be handed over to each panchayat office, one will be for the LSGD engineer’s use only.Excise Minister K Babu was the chief guest at the function presided over by LSGD chief engineer R Jayachandran Nair. Association state general secretary K T Sajan, Benny Behanan MLA and district panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappilly were present at the function. The inauguration was followed by the association’s general body meeting. The family get-together of the association members was inaugurated by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob in the evening. Mayor Tony Chammany, Hibi Eden MLA and district panchayat vice-president Bindhu George were among those attended the function.
