Mahanga PS finally gets IIC
Mahanga PS finally gets IIC

Mahanga police station has finally got its inspector-in-charge. Pravas Chandra Pal took charge on Saturday.

The police station which caters to 194 villages and 34 gram panchayats in Mahanga block had been functioning without an IIC for the last three months. Despite increasing incidents of crime, the post had been lying vacant after the transfer of Inspector Suryakant Ray on May 2. In the absence of IIC, the law and order situation in the block had deteriorated. The areas under Mahanga police limits are adjacent to crime-prone Kendrapara and Jajpur districts. Four constable posts have also been lying vacant since long.

Same was the case with Bhadreswar police outpost here. Earlier, only two constables were posted. However, after much hue and cry, an ASI has been posted as in-charge officer.

What's your reaction?
