Maharashtra has been made free of load-shedding from 2012 to speed up the pace of development works, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in Nashik on Friday. "Presently, there is no load-shedding in areas under particular group feeders (in A,B,C ~~amp; D categories). However, loadshedding in some other (E,F,G) groups, where consumers do not pay their bills regularly, is still on," Pawar explained.
He added that Rs 6,500 crore would be spent on raising basic infrastructure facilities. "There is adequate power available in the state. Additional power will also be available from Gondia's 660 MW plant, Nashik Thermal Power Project (1350 MW) being setup by Indiabulls Realtech Ltd and Amravati, while Sakri's 125 MW solar energy will be available and government is making all efforts to get more power for the state," Pawar said.
The NCP leader was speaking after inagurating 33/11 kv sub-power- station of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) at Mhasrul in the district. Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Vijay Kumar Gavit, Divisional Revenue Commissioner Ravindra Jadhav, MSEDCL officials and Zilla Parishad president Jayashree Pawar were present on the occasion.
