The Fraud and Misappropriation squad of the CCB have arrested a 70-year-old fraud, who allegedly cheated industrialists. The accussed has been identified as Senbaga Murthy.
Police said he had given advertisement in a daily claiming that he would give loans ranging from RS 10 crore to Rs 500 crore at low interest rates against mortgaging property documents. “Murthy had assured H N Halappa of giving a loan of `10 crore. He told Halappa that he would bear Rs 7. 62 lakh fee including treasury fee of Rs 5.
1 lakh and a demand draft of Rs 2. 52 lakh, to release the loan amount. Murthy created a fake mortgage deed and forged signatures of the treasury officer and sub-registrar and officials of Vijaya Bank in Chennai and created a fake DD of `10 crore.
He produced the fake DD before Halappa and received `1 lakh as advance of mortgage fees,” the police said. Woman Hangs Self Depressed over her daughter’s death in a road accident, a woman ended her life by hanging herself.
The incident was reported at Machenahalli in Bidadi. Thayavva is the deceased. Police said her daughter Sunitha was run over by a KSRTC bus at Chikkarasanahalli near Bidadi on Wednesday
