Man attempts to rape daugther

HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, a 38-year-old man allegedly tried to sexually assault his 14-year-old daughter at Miyapur on Wednesday. The accused, S Manoj Kumar, was beaten up by locals and handed over to the police. Kumar works as a supervisor in a security agency. Hailing from Orissa, the family settled at Old Hafizpet.Manoj’s wife, Sunitha, works as a domestic help in the nearby houses. According to police, Sunitha left home in the morning while Manoj Kumar and his daughter were in the house.The girl, who studies in a local school, was in the house as the school was closed. Around 10 a.m, Manoj locked the house from inside and grabbed his daughter from behind.“Thrusting a knife at her throat, Manoj threatened her not to raise alarm and tried to sexually assault her.She raised an alarm and locals rescued her,’’ police said.
