BANGALORE: A man and his second wife committed suicide by hanging themselves after the police had called them for enquiry based on a complaint filed by his first wife. The incident occurred at Ranganathapura Fourth Main Road in Kamakshipalya police station limits on Tuesday night.The deceased have been identified as Ravikumar (24) and Tejaswini (20), both natives of Shidlaghatta in Chickballapur district.The police said they were in love since their college days. Ravikumar’s parents had got him married to another girl against his wishes. Recently, he had secretly married Tejaswini and had taken a house on rent 15 days ago. However, his first wife had filed a cheating case against him in Shidlaghatta police station and the police had asked Ravikumar to come to the police station with Tejaswini for enquiry.The police have suspected that the couple might have taken the extreme fearing the consequences of the complaint. In a suicide note, they said they were responsible for their death as they could not face the society, the police added.The bodies were shifted to Victoria Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
