HYDERABAD: The staff of a private lodge foiled an attempt by a person to end his life in the hotel room on Friday. The person claimed that he intended to take his life depressed over the delay in formation of Telangana state.Foryt-five-year-old G Kanakaiah, a native of Jillela village in Karimnagar district, runs a roadside business at Ameerpet. Two days ago, he took a room at Padma lodge at LB Nagar. As he did not come out of the room since Thursday morning, the staff at the lodge grew suspicious on Friday and peeped through the window and found Kanakaiah trying to hang himself with a cable wire.They immediately broke open the door and with the help of police shifted Kanakaiah to Osmania General hospital where he is undergoing treatment.Kanakaiah reportedly told them that he decided to end his life depressed over the acts of political leaders to dilute the Telangana movement.
