New Delhi: A rising star who created a stir during the first phase of Odd-Even has achieved yet another milestone. Class 9 student Akshat Mittal is the founder of odd-even.com. He is now the youngest board member of carpooling website Orahi- which recently acquired odd-even.com
Akshat developed a match-making website in December 2015 to connect people with odd and even number cars so as to ease carpooling. An instant success, the website has a base of 30,000 registered users. Orahi has stepped in and promised to enhance Akshat's website with fool-proof verification and prepaid fare mechanism.
Arun Bharti, CEO of Orahi, said, "We wanted to acquire it because the name is very catchy - odd-even.com and it is coming with 30,000 user base. Add that to our existing 40,000 and we are easily the most booming carpooling platform."
Akshat's evenings are now occupied by board meetings. The teenager has also been roped in as a member on the advisory board. Orahi saw a 400% jump in traffic during the odd-even phase 1. With Akshat on board, they wish to take it further up in the second phase. The teenager is also working on anti-corruption app and is driven by a desire to foster positive change.
Akshat said, "I wanted to bring about a positive change in the lives of the people. I want to be the biggest entrepreneur of India."
Thirteen-year-old Akshat want to own a big empire and create a social impact. As Delhi government's odd-even sets to return, Akshat and his team at Orahi are brainstorming to make lives easier for Delhiites.
