A labourer, who was missing since the past two days, was found dead inside a well near the Osmania University Distance Education Centre Tuesday.
The body, which was found floating in the well by nearby residents, was retrieved with the help of expert swimmers. The victim was identified as 39-year-old Krishna of Uppal with the help of an abandoned bike found near the well on Monday.
According to the OU police, Krishna, along with his wife, attended a wedding in Ram Nagar two days ago. Krishna drank a lot of alcohol at the function and as he was not in a position to travel, his wife advised him to take rest at the wedding hall and left for home alone.
Krishna did not heed his wife’s advice and started for home on his bike later.
Police suspect Krishna might have stopped the bike near the well and in an inebriated condition, accidentally fallen into it. A case of suspicious death was registered.
